Welcome to Mystic Pulse

Founded in 2011, the ensemble of Mystic Pulse is a unique and harmonious blend of world flutes, guitars, voice, drums, gongs and ethnic percussion, manifested to release stress and anxiety while connecting oneself to a sacred center.

Combining poetry and sound, during yoga classes, meditation practices, reiki sessions, gong enhanced-sound journeys, in concert, farmer’s markets, Wild Bear Nature Center events and for spiritual, religious and healing events, the dynamic musicians of Mystic Pulse embody a rare musical sensitivity and creative verve, with the intention of moving their audience participants into the magnificent present moment!

GONG ENHANCED - SOUND JOURNEYS

Experience a unique intimate voyage through the mystic vibrations of harmonic Gongs sounds, profound poetic expression, guided meditation, and the balancing grounding sonorities of the Native American flute.

Gong Enhanced Sound Journey is a surprising and unique sound experience that washes through the whole body with dissonance and harmonic sounds, creating spontaneous meditative effects, that are often described as deeply relaxing, balancing and cleansing.  The sequencing and combination of these sounds can un-stick stuck places we may not be aware of, and creates a relaxing atmosphere conducive to a stillness within.

JASON RUBY - MUSICIAN, MUSIC TEACHER, & ARCHITECT

Jason Ruby is a practicing architect and musician currently based out of Longmont, CO.

As a teenager, Jason had awakening experiences with both music and architecture when performing in cathedrals in France, Austria, and Germany with his high school choir.  Also during this period, Jason first experienced the explosive energy of performing as a guitarist with a rock band in front of a full-house high school auditorium.  Through the years, Jason has explored a wide range of musical expression, performing guitar and drums in bands of various genres including: hard rock, metal, punk, progressive rock, acoustic-electric rock, singer-songwriter, klezmer, and jazz.

As well as performing versatile and eclectic styles of music within the ensemble of Mystic Pulse, Jason currently enjoys creating atmospheric and healing sounds within the ensemble, which combines world flutes, guitars, vocals, percussion, and gongs.

Whether working with sound and silence, or solid and void, Jason's efforts in music and architecture are ultimately about creating experiences.

More info on Jason's architectural work can be found here and on the Regenerative Architecture page.

KEN McCORKELL- PIANIST, I.T. SPECIALIST AND FAMILY MAN

Colorado Native, Ken McCorkell began playing piano at age 6, when he learned how to bang out melodies on a toy organ.  He started his formal training with classical studies, and then in middle school became interested in jazz, joining all the jazz bands and orchestras available to him.  Ken performed with the citywide jazz combo in the Denver Public Schools, and the Colorado All State Jazz Band in high school.

In the early 2000’s, after receiving a degree in computer science and engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, Ken joined a New Orleans jazz funk band called Gris Gris, and performed with the band Fina Dupa.  World music and all improvised styles are his forté.  Learning new styles of music is the challenge that piques Ken’s interest.   MYSTIC PULSE welcomed Ken and his musical prowess and playfulness in 2022.

Our heart’s mission is to bring calming, centering and healing music to individuals and the collective, whether it manifests in hospice, within yoga/reiki sessions, through Gong Enhanced Sound Journeys, private sound journeys, during religious and ceremonial events or in concert performance.

We offer music to enhance any occasion by design.
